Red Fort - Delhi

Delhi was not quite on my 2008 wish list. But then, I am always ready to travel - wherever, whenever. So, work took me to Delhi. And I planned to spend some PLs there, which thus lead to a series of post here.

When the Delhi travel started to materialize, I had many trials in mind. But, finally settled for the famous Golden Triangle - i.e. Delhi-Agra-Jaipur

Day one was just IGA & Red Fort.

Red Fort - Lal Qila is Delhi's important tourist attraction. Everyone whom I met, wanted me to visit Lal Qila. A brilliant red sandstone fort built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as his ruling palace; dating back to 1648.

The security is pretty tight here, whether its deposit of the belongings, metal detector or Physical check. Red Fort to was always this image to me.

This picture was etched in mind as a kid, since this was the one in our Social Studies text as well as on Doordarshan. This image had already satisfied me. Since, I needn't now have to go in search of views and match them to the one etched in my mind.

More to follow soon....
